What is THORChain?
THORChain solves crypto's hardest interoperability problem honestly: swapping native assets across chains. When you trade BTC for ETH on a THORChain-powered interface, you receive real Ether on Ethereum and send real Bitcoin — no wrapped IOUs, no bridge custodian holding your funds. The protocol's network of nodes observes vaults on each connected chain and settles trades through RUNE-denominated liquidity pools.
Every pool on THORChain pairs an external asset against RUNE, making RUNE the settlement asset of the entire system and tying its value to protocol liquidity. Features have grown to include streaming swaps (splitting large trades over time for better execution), single-sided savers vaults for earning yield on native BTC, and a lending design. Interfaces like THORSwap, Asgardex and SwapKit-powered wallets provide the front ends.
