Jupiter

Jupiter is the trading superhighway of Solana. Rather than being an exchange with its own pools, Jupiter is a liquidity aggregator: it scans every major Solana DEX — Orca, Raydium, Meteora and dozens more — and routes your swap through whichever venue (or split of venues) gives the best execution. Since launching in 2021 it has become the default front end for Solana trading, processing the majority of the chain's swap volume.

The product has expanded into a full trading suite: limit orders, dollar-cost averaging (DCA), a bridge comparator, perpetual futures and the LFG launchpad that debuted several major Solana tokens. Jupiter's routing engine handles the chain's famously fragmented liquidity, automatically splitting trades across pools to minimize price impact — something that would be tedious to replicate manually.

JUP, the governance token, was distributed in one of the largest airdrops in crypto history and now powers community governance via the Jupiter DAO. For anyone trading on Solana, Jupiter is the obvious first stop; the main caveats are that it inherits Solana's congestion risks during mania phases and that aggregator routes are only as safe as the underlying venues they touch.
